Tier Level Details

Tier Access Level 1

Access to all datasets, but all demographic data is removed except for year of birth.

• Applies to all datasets with individual level data.
• Demographics like sex, race, marriage status, job title, etc. will all be removed from the download.
• Limit to the first 3 characters of the ICD code when downloading.
• Exceptions: if all people in the dataset are deceased (Radium dial painter data) or the dataset is not down to the individual level (summarized data).

Tier Access Level 2

Researching or Publication

• IRB protocol required. Either from DOE or from an accredited institution.
• Limit access to specific dataset(s)
• Users will have access to all demographic data within specific dataset(s).

Tier Access Level 3

Identified datasets that require additional approval.

• Same as tier 2 but approval by specified “owner” of dataset(s) is required.
• This is an internal process for CEDR; however, additional information may be requested from the specified "owner" of dataset(s) before authorization is granted.
